We are facing challenging times. The current economic threats from the US are intensifying the difficulties we already face: the price of necessities rising, jobs becoming more precarious, and longer wait times for health care. Yet, it’s in moments like these that we must come together, drawing strength from our shared values and collective resilience.
This Federal Election is a pivotal moment for our nation. The decisions we make now will shape Canada for generations to come. We need leaders who will unite us, protect our sovereignty, and build a country and an economy that works for everyone.
As a destabilizing trade war looms, we need leaders to invest in us. Affordable housing, child care, and public healthcare aren’t “nice to haves” – these are the very things that make our economy and our communities stronger. These policies create millions of jobs, add billions to the economy, and make a more resilient Canada. When we put people first, we all thrive.
A strong economy and resilient democracy are not at odds with our commitment to social progress – they only reinforce one another. And it’s up to all of us to hold our leaders accountable when fighting for a stronger Canada for everyone.
The feminist movement has never backed down from a challenge, and we remain steadfast now. We have fought for progress and we have won. Our commitment to gender equality is about building a robust, resilient Canada where we all have what we need to thrive, take care of our families and make decisions about our future.
We invite you to take the pledge and join us in fighting for a Canada where:
- A strong public healthcare system supports everyone when they need it
- Affordable, accessible child care allows parents to work and care for their children
- Safe, affordable housing provides stability for all
- Expanded employment insurance protects all workers
Together, we can build a country that is stronger because it is fair – where every person has the opportunity to thrive.
We, the undersigned, pledge to demand better from our leaders, to fight for our families and our communities, and hold all governments accountable for improving life for everyone.
